Settlement Overview

  • Are you a current or former employee of Seattle Public Schools or Federal Way Public Schools? There is a Settlement of a lawsuit related to an alleged Data Security Incident. You may be entitled to monetary relief. To be part of this Settlement, you should review the contents of this Settlement Website carefully and submit a Claim Form by December 2, 2026.

 

  • A proposed settlement (the “Settlement”) has been reached in the lawsuit involving Seattle Public Schools (“SPS”) and Federal Way Public Schools (“FWPS”) (SPS and FWPS collectively “Defendants”), relating to the cyber incident perpetrated against Defendants’ third-party vendor, Carruth Compliance Consulting Inc. (“Carruth”), in December 2024 (the “Data Security Incident”).

 

  • The Court in charge of this case still has to decide whether to grant final approval of the Settlement.

 

  • Final Fairness Hearing: December 18, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. PST.

 

  • If you are a Settlement Class Member, and you take no action, you will still be bound by the Settlement and your rights will be affected.
